Miss Em, Creator of Bruce Ryder, recently sat down with Jonny Peters for Campaign Brief’s UNLEARN podcast to talk about Bruce Ryder’s hyperfiction world and the thinking behind it ahead of this year’s AI Video Summit in October.
The conversation gave Emma the chance to draw a clear line between two things that get lumped together far too often: AI influencers built to mimic human UGC on social media, and fictional characters built into genuine worlds of lore and viewer engagement. The first is dishonest trickery. The second is interactive storytelling one where the audience knows, and consents to, the fact that what they’re watching is fantasy, game, or fiction. Bruce Ryder belongs firmly in the second category, and always has.
It’s a distinction Emma will be unpacking further at this year’s AI Video Summit, where she’ll explore the commercial viability, ethics, and consumer insight behind these fictional worlds and why they represent the next era of interactive entertainment, where brands and products can be placed transparently within storylines the audience actually wants to be part of.
